– We raise Red Angus cattle known for their hardiness, docility and ability to produce excellent quality beef on primarily grass diets (www.redangus.org). Our herd currently consists of 3 heifers, which will be bred to expand our herd and produce calves for sale. Our first calves will be born next spring. Come back to the website often for updates.

The cattle rotationally graze our pastures which contain a mixture of orchardgrass, alfalfa, red clover, white clover, and chicory. The cattle also have rotational grazing access to native prairie we are re-establishing which contains big bluestem, little bluestem, indiangrass, and switchgrass, as well as numerous native forbes. While on pasture during the summer and fall, the cattle receive a vitamin, mineral and protein supplement block. In the winter and early spring, the cattle are housed in our barn and fed hay grown on our fields. The cattle receive no antibiotics or hormones, and the pastures receive no pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

Our Red Angus cattle will weigh about 1100 pounds at 18 months of age. Processing will occur locally at a federally inspected facility. Each animal will yield about 570 pounds of meat which can be cut and packaged to the specifications of the customer. Beef halves and quarters will be available.
